What to Expect from Physiotherapy
Your first Physiotherapy session with the physiotherapist includes a thorough assessment, analysis and explanation of findings. Working with you, a personalized treatment plan, goals and prognosis will be established, with treatment commencing in that session! Open communication and your personal comfort is encouraged, as a relaxed, peaceful, and comfortable environment will optimize the therapeutic experience for you! Your session may include some or all of the following treatment options: Acupuncture, Myofascial Release, Manual Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy and Energetic Therapies. During your visit with the physiotherapist, instruction may possibly be provided in Therapeutic Exercise, Postural Awareness, Effective Breathing and Relaxation strategies. During follow-up Physiotherapy sessions with the physiotherapist your progress will be monitored and your treatment may be modified based on the changes taking place in your body.
Balance, Health and Vitality with Physiotherapy
Constant pain and dysfunction that is treated during Physiotherapy visits is usually resulting from an accumulation of traumas from life. These are often emotional or physical, major or minor, or simply resulting from years of continuous poor posture. “Holding” or “freezing” patterns may materialize in the muscles, tissues, and fascia (the connective tissue running through our entire bodies). These restrictions often apply significant pressure on tender tissues, the nervous system, blood vessels and organs. Your skeletal system may become misaligned! Fatigue, pain and a poorly aligned skeletal system don’t have to be your way of life! By becoming more aware of the mind/body relationship and effective Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, and Myofascial Release, benefits are often experienced. The objective of your Physiotherapy treatments is facilitating your “release” from restrictions and your return to “health, vitality and balance”.
